Skyros (Greek: Σκύρος) is the southernmost of the Sporades Islands. Like the other Sporades Islands, Skyros is picturesque with secluded beaches and crystal waters. Although it is a much bigger island, it has little tourist development and an especially relaxing, calm atmosphere.
Enjoy the island's speciality (lobster spaghetti) with a stunning view of the sunset in the charming port of Linaria, built around a bay. Alternatively, you can try some of the other traditional dishes, such as lemon-goat or stuffed vine leaves (vaprakia).
Take a walk around Skyros town (Chora), the capital of the island, with its quaint cobbled streets, white Cycladic architecture, interesting museums, and an impressive Byzantine castle.
