Sail Aegean offers both bareboat and skippered sailing charters of its luxury cruising yachts. Our main base is in the Volos marina but we also have a second base in Loutraki, Skopelos.
Sail Aegean can also organise sailing training for those who wish to learn to sail or to improve their sailing skills.
Bareboat: For those who can sail independently. If you are booking a bareboat charter or flotilla, you must hold a qualified skipper licence - day skipper competent level (from a recognised body) or an International Certificate of Competence (ICC) as a skipper, and have adequate sailing experience. You should also have a co-skipper at competent crew certificate level or with appropriate experience.
When you charter the yacht bareboat, you are of course free to sail as you wish, but we can propose a number of itineraries that will offer you the best possibilities for an enjoyable sailing holiday within the time chartered.
Skippered: For those who would like to enjoy sailing care free or have little or no sailing experience.
When you charter the yacht with one of our experienced and qualified skippers, you can of course sit back and relax. But should you wish to learn a bit of sailing, our skippers will be more than happy to teach you.
Sail & See Flotilla: To meet demand for flotilla holidays, SAIL AEGEAN will operate its own flotillas between 1 July and 26 August 2017 from our main base in Volos. The SAIL AEGEAN Sail & See Flotilla will be led by its own team of experts, with unique knowledge of its sailing area and its yachts. They will ensure that you experience the best leisure sailing, whilst discovering the unrivalled natural beauty and hidden gems of the Pagasitikos Gulf and Mount Pelion peninsula. SAIL AEGEAN's team will arrange a safe place to moor or anchor, with access to all the facilities you require, and provide any other support you need. SAIL AEGEAN will organise special visits to some of Pelion's most charming villages, including an unforgettable ride on the traditional Pelion mountain train, a dinner-dance with a breathtaking view of Volos by night, and a delicious beach BBQ under the stars.

Sporades Flotilla: After a successful season in 2016, SAIL AEGEAN will continue to operate flotillas between 19 May and 6 October 2017, in cooperation with SEAFARER Cruising and Sailing Holidays, UK, from our second base in Loutraki, Skopelos. The Sporades Flotilla will provide you with an excellent sailing experience aboard SAIL AEGEAN's yachts on an island route. Discover the three northern Sporades islands (Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos) under the guidance of the SEAFARER flotilla lead crew. They will organise the best itinerary, ensure that you are well moored or anchored, host group meals and parties, and help with any technical issues.

Learn to Sail
If you are interested in learning to sail whilst on holiday in Greece, SAIL AEGEAN can offer you the opportunity to obtain a valid sailing certificate that is accepted by the Greek authorities and is similar to the British RYA Coastal Skipper (non-tidal) certificate. The course teaches the skills and techniques required to safely skipper a yacht on coastal passages by day and by night in non-tidal waters. For more information, contact email@example.com.
